2019 – A Year in Review

Well, that’s another year in the books and what a year it was! We had the pleasure of working with a large number of lovely customers, some challenging projects, and added new faces to the Parker Home team. Here are some of the highlights through our year in review.

What we can only describe as a delight to work on was Geoffrey House which featured a refurbishment of a bedroom, lounge, and a complete renovation of a bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed helping to transform this property into a beautiful and cosy home. We returned later in the year to continue the transformation.

One of the more challenging projects was City Road in Cambridge. A roof to basement renovation of a Victorian period property, this house proved that even the most experienced eye cannot see what lurks beneath. There were a number of unexpected and not inconsiderable deviations from the original plan and while we were able to bring our vast experience to the fore, we should also give a huge amount of credit to our customers who took everything remarkably well!

It just goes to show that having experience on your side cannot be underestimated when it comes to property renovation!

The end result at City Road was quite stunning. Yes, it was a labour of love, but we were determined to deliver only the best and we achieved it. So much so that the new owners called to say thank you for renovating their new home to such an incredibly high standard!

One of our more unusual projects was in Cambridge and involved installing new flooring, an air filtration system to help the owners overcome a number of severe allergies. The property was tastefully redecorated throughout, and our qualified electricians installed a magical home automation system to enable numerous elements to be controlled at the touch of a button or tap of a phone screen.

We also had the pleasure of working on numerous renovations, including a conservatory where we fitted a solid roof and Velux windows.

In amongst all this, we also installed some amazing kitchens which really did exceed everyone’s expectations and would grace the cover of any home magazine.

In what was an extremely busy year, the team continued to grow with a number of important additions to our highly skilled workforce. Our new staff members also included an apprentice carpenter and it’s wonderful to be able to pass on our experience and craftsmanship to the next generation.

We don’t know what 2020 holds, but we’re sure it will be eventful and full of interesting and challenging projects.
