There’s so much to cover but we’ll try to keep it as brief as possible!
Once more this year, we have had the pleasure of working with a lovely set of customers, many of whom have become great friends. Every project has been different and some have been more challenging than others.
As a business, we’ve adapted to increased demand by adding skilled resources to the team and have welcomed Zee and Richard on board. To help manage our logistics we’ve taken on new premises and added a new van to the fleet.
Something many won’t be aware of is that we also won a contract to become official fitters for Wren Kitchens. This was possible due to the extremely high standards of quality and craftsmanship we adhere to.
As a business, we’re looking to a bright future and have engaged a business mentor and marketing strategist to help accelerate our progress and scale Parker Home further still.
That’s enough about us because it’s really been about our customers.
At the beginning of the year we completed a garage conversion for Joe and Pam, providing them with a much needed bedroom and bathroom. For a number of reasons, this was a particularly special project, not least of all because of the look of delight on Pam’s face when we handed over the finished job!
We also created a wet room and utility room plus a new fitted kitchen for Val and Jim when we converted their garage for them. You can see more about that here.
Working for Emma and Greg on the stunning North Lodge, an 18th century coaching house was another highlight.
It’s fair to say that we were able to really show what we’re capable of here as we renovated 2 Bathrooms, adapted the Master Bedroom, added a Dressing Room, strengthened the staircase, then decorated throughout.
Phil and Pam’s beautiful thatched cottage ‘The Long House’ required renovations to the Bedrooms, Landing and Staircase. This is where Paul worked his magic and added a removable Balustade, so they could get furniture up and down their quirky staircase. We returned later in the year to renovate their Kitchen and Boot Room with Neptune Kitchens and supply and fit hard wood windows.
We were then invited to the depths of Suffolk by Peter and Val for renovations at their beautiful period cottage. Renovations to an otherwise dark cold ground floor room into a light airy Art and Craft Room for Val. We added a dormer window to the first floor Guest Bedroom, where we adapted a French washstand that Val had found in an antique shop in London into a hand basin. This room now has views across the fields adjacent to the cottage, where they can now watch the cows graze from the bed. Perfect!!
We also converted a unused room into a Bathroom with standalone bath and sink and added new hardwood sash windows. After finishing the en-suite bathroom and general carpentry works to accommodate more storage space, it’s fair to say we felt like part of the family.
This is what Peter and Val said:
“We were extremely pleased with the work that Steve and the team from Parker Home did on our house. It involved creating new windows, a new bathroom and drainage, electrics and decoration. They were always very professional, conscientious and obliging, and really considerate and personable people. They were inventive and took great pains in terms of attention to detail and tidiness, which is important when you have builders in your house for three months. We would have no hesitation in using them again, and in recommending them to others.”
There were other great projects, including working with Sue and Steve at the Old School House and we’ll tell you more about that soon. There’s so much to tell you about, including more conversion, as well as some work we did for ourselves in creating our rather marvellous new garden office!
For now though, we’d like to once again thank our customers past and present and we look forward to an exciting 2018 and hope it brings you everything you wish for.
